Olympic political correctness

Updated article with video: see below
The "Cradle of Democracy" opposes free-speech

Greek triple jumper Voula Papachristou was kicked off of Greece's Olympic team on Wednesday for her comments on her twitter account. Apparently, she made some comments mocking African immigrants in Greece and expressing her support for the far-right political party, Golden Dawn. Her twitter account and tweets were public so everyone was able to see them. The Hellenic Olympic Committee said that she is "placed outside the Olympic team for statements contrary to the values and ideas of the Olympic movement."

Whether you agree with her comments or not, she still has the right to freedom of thought, expression and speech. It is very sad that the Olympics, just like football/soccer (UEFA & FIFA), has become so politicized especially in the name of political correctness in the last decade or so. This is a perfect example of how political correctness, or thought control, manages to destroy peoples' lives and dreams. Even an apology made by Voula Papachristou was not enough for the politically correct establishment as they were out for her blood. It seems that the thought police are alive and well in the 21st century.
